Changing Unhelpful Thoughts

Participants will be introduced to the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model as a way to understand thought patterns, unhelpful thinking styles, and how to challenge / change these unhelpful thoughts. The connection between thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and bodily sensations will also be explored. 


Stress and Anxiety 101

Participants will learn the difference between stress and anxiety, about the sources and causes of stress, and how to protect against this stress. Participants will also be provided tools to assist them when feeling stressed or anxious. 


The ABZzzzzs of Sleep 

Participants will learn about the importance of sleep and sleep hygiene. Furthermore, participants will engage in a relaxation technique that will be useful when experiencing sleep difficulties. 


Intro to Mindfulness

Participants will receive an overview and definition of mindfulness, discuss the benefits of mindfulness on mental and physical health, practice various mindfulness exercises, and discuss different ways to engage in this action of mindfulness.


Intro to Wellness

Participants will learn about the concept of dimensional wellness and all the components that contribute to the experience of overall wellness. Participants will also learn how to identify specific goals in order to improve their own wellness.


Relationships 101

Participants will be introduced to the features of both healthy and unhealthy relationships, strategies to manage conflict more effectively, and the ways in which one can effectively set healthy boundaries with friends and family.


Taking Online Courses

Participants will be introduced to ways one may cope, in a healthy way, with stress and worry related to transitioning to online classes and provides participants with tools to be successful in their online classes.


Test Anxiety

Participants will learn about the components of test anxiety and the biological basis of it. Furthermore, participants will learn the ways in which test anxiety begins and is maintained along with skills that can be used to minimize the symptoms of this anxiety.
