About

Who we are, what we do, and how we can help.

Welcome

Thank you for visiting the Mississippi State Counseling Center website. This website is designed to provide an abundance of information about the Counseling Center and our services. We’re located in Hathorn Hall (entrance to the left of the residence hall) and offer comprehensive services to meet the personal, social, developmental, and general mental health needs of our students.

The Counseling Center is staffed by licensed psychologists, licensed professional counselors, and social workers, as well psychology and counselor education interns. The services offered at the Counseling Center are accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS).

The Counseling Center educates students for life by providing a variety of services and programs that are consistent and in agreement with the strategic plan goals of the Institution and the Division of Student Affairs. Services include short-term individual counseling, group counseling, couples counseling, crisis intervention, referral services, as well as consultation for faculty and staff, family and friends of Mississippi State students.

All counseling services are confidential and free of charge for eligible students. The Counseling Center provides brief or short-term therapy for a variety of presenting problems. Concerns that require on-going or long-term treatment may be best served through a referral to an outside community provider.

Our primary goal is to provide students with the services, support, and skills needed to grow, develop, learn, and thrive while at Mississippi State University. Please do not hesitate to contact the Counseling Center if you have any questions, at (662)325-2091.
